What you say matters. But where you are coming from when you say it matters just as much — and often more.
Every communication carries an invisible energetic signal beneath the words. It’s felt as it is the carrier of the content in the communication. And when that signal carries even a trace of “I know and you don’t” — resistance, opposition, and disconnect often follows. Not because of what was said, but because of the position it was said from.
This is one of the most chronic and overlooked blind spots in human communication — and many of us are completely unaware that our coming from position is even palpable.
When the stakes are high — a negotiation, a business arrangement, a presentation, an important conversation — your coming from position can make or break the outcome before a single key point is delivered. It can block the reception of some of the most important communication.
In this short video, Kim Greenhouse shares her expertise in this area having observed this dynamic happening all throughout the world in communication. Watch and find out how to identify the one thing that may be working against you without your knowledge.

Coming From Position
The next part of what I want to talk to you about is your coming from position. And you may say, we all come from a certain place when we’re communicating and talking, and you know, what’s important is the content. The content is important. It’s important for all of us. But if you want to find out what is it about what you’re communicating — whether it’s a text, whether it’s an email, whether it’s a letter, a conversation, a speech, whether you’re negotiating — it’s very important that you identify what appears to be invisible to you, and that is your coming from position.
More people react unpleasantly, unhappily, with resistance and opposition to a coming from position — sometimes having nothing to do with what you’re saying, but where you’re coming from about it.
And if where you come from about something is “I know and you don’t,” it’s felt. It’s picked up. No, you didn’t say it. You don’t have to. It’s in the energy of communication. It’s in the dynamic. This is a traditional, chronic blind spot for all of us. It’s a communication blind spot.
And it exists as part of something that needs to be revealed, particularly when you have important communication where there’s a lot at stake. So your coming from position is critical. And if you have something that’s very important to you to communicate, you want your coming from position to be clean. Very clean. And we’re not always all aware of our coming from position.
